What a bright and beautiful March day it was! I eagerly headed to the Eisenhower House in Newport, Rhode Island, for an amazing LGBTQ+ styled shoot.
It was the off-season for weddings, and I was itching to get back to filming. So, I reached out to Tracy Jenkins, to see if I could capture the day on film. Luckily, Tracy was all for it, and I couldn’t wait to dive in.
The Eisenhower House sits atop a hill in Fort Adams State Park and offers stunning views of Narragansett Bay. Once the summer home of the Eisenhowers, this historic mansion is full of charm and elegance. It’s a perfect spot for weddings and special events.
As I set up my gear, I couldn’t help but marvel at the beautiful surroundings. The house’s architecture and the panoramic bay views made for a breathtaking backdrop. The weather was just right, adding a gentle warmth that enhanced the day’s vibe.
Once I was finished setting up my gear I headed upstairs to film Marcus and Victor getting ready. First I started off with the beautiful invitation suites that Shanna Lyn Calligraphy created just for this shoot. Next, I headed over to capture Jess from Limitless Beauty putting the finishing touches on Victor while Marcus finished putting on his suit. Once they were both ready we headed downstairs to start. In the dining area of the house Whitney from WR Design and Decor decorated the dining table with such beautiful arrangements I was practically speechless. She also created the most beautiful florals for the arbor outside.
What struck me throughout the shoot was not just the location’s beauty, but the spirit of inclusivity and celebration in the air. Every detail, from the flowers to the elegant table settings, was carefully crafted to reflect the vibrancy and diversity of love.
As I packed up my gear at the end of the day, I felt deeply grateful to be part of such a meaningful project. The Eisenhower House provided a stunning setting and a powerful reminder of the importance of celebrating love in all its forms.
Filming the LGBTQ+-styled shoot at the Eisenhower House was truly inspiring. It reignited my passion for capturing moments of love and joy, and I left Newport that day with a renewed enthusiasm for my craft.
