Brianna & David’s Winter Wonderland Wedding at The Preserve at Chocorua

Some love stories start with fireworks, others with laughter—and Brianna and David’s began somewhere in between. They first met as freshmen at Merrimack College, living in the same dorm. David always jokes that when he first met Brianna, he thought she had “crazy eyes.” What started as friendship slowly turned into something more, and by junior and senior year they were spending most of their time together. Before long, friendship turned into love.

From a Fake Date to the Real Thing

Their story has a rom-com feel to it. Before they were officially dating, they tagged along on a friend’s blind date at Bertucci’s—calling it their “fake date.” Not long after, they had what they now consider their real first date: skating in Boston. Brianna grew up figure skating, and David was a lifelong hockey player, so it felt like fate that their first official outing together would be on the ice outside Government Center. That’s where their love story really began.

A Winter Wonderland Wedding

Fast forward to February at The Preserve at Chocorua in Tamworth, New Hampshire. Brianna and David said “I do” on a freezing but sunny day, surrounded by snow-covered grounds that made the perfect winter wonderland backdrop. The cold didn’t stand a chance against the warmth of the love and laughter that filled the day.

One of the things they loved most about their venue was being able to include their dogs in the celebration (yes, they were part of the day!) and having family and friends stay onsite for the weekend. It made the whole celebration feel more like a big, cozy family gathering.

Elegant Details with Cozy Touches

Brianna looked stunning in an A-line Casablanca lace gown, detailed with sequin appliques that sparkled in the winter light. David and his groomsmen wore classic black tuxes, while the bridesmaids brought the seasonal vibes in velvet evergreen dresses. The groomsmen’s evergreen bowties tied it all together perfectly. Their deep red and green color palette was timeless and elegant, and it fit the season beautifully.

The rustic, cozy vibe flowed through their decor, too. Each table had its own winter-inspired touches, and one of my favorite details were the custom cookies with their dogs’ faces on them. Personal, fun, and so them.

Family, Friends, and Furry Companions

This wedding was all about love, family, and connection. Their dogs, Faith and Jasper, weren’t just guests—they walked the aisle and were featured in the sweetest details. Their ceremony was officiated by their friend Annie, which made the whole thing feel extra personal and meaningful. Everything about the day pointed back to what mattered most to Brianna and David: love, family, and their life together.

The Feeling of the Day

Yes, it was cold (freezing, actually), but the atmosphere was so warm. Between the snow sparkling on the ground, the laughter of their loved ones, and the pure joy radiating from these two, it felt like something out of a fairytale. Elegant but down-to-earth, magical but cozy—it was the perfect winter wedding.
