Some love stories begin with chance encounters, others with fate—and for Sabrina and Brett, it all started thanks to their moms. But here’s the twist: both moms actually said don’t do it. They worried dating would ruin their friendship. Safe to say, they couldn’t have been more wrong. Not only did their friendship survive, but it’s now tied together forever thanks to Sabrina and Brett’s love story.
It was November 2021, and Brett’s sister Hannah was running the New York Marathon. Both moms, now recent best friends, traveled to the city to cheer her on. That’s where Sabrina and Brett first met—at her sister Cristina’s place—and quickly realized they had a lot in common. Brett wasted no time trying to win her over that weekend.
Their first official date was at Goodnight Sonny in NYC. Both had already eaten dinner with their own friends, so it was meant to be a quick drink. Sabrina’s friend Jess decided to tag along and meet this guy she had been hearing about all evening. When Jess walked up to the bar, she accidentally handed Brett her ID—thinking he was the bouncer. (Not exactly your classic meet-cute, but definitely one for the books!) Jess eventually left, and Sabrina and Brett spent the rest of the night laughing about growing up just a mile apart without ever crossing paths, and how life had finally brought them together in New York.

Fast forward to May, when they tied the knot at Water’s Edge Resort and Spa in Westbrook, Connecticut. The location couldn’t have been more perfect—waterfront views, a place for all their loved ones to stay together, and the calming backdrop of the ocean. Even when fog rolled in right before the ceremony, it added a soft, romantic glow over the water. Honestly, it couldn’t have been better light for filming, and it gave the whole moment an ethereal feel.
Their wedding day was elegant, minimalistic, and so full of joy. Every detail was thoughtful, but the thing that stood out most was the love pouring out from their families. Having filmed Sabrina’s sister Cristina’s wedding before, it felt incredibly special to be back with this family for another milestone.
Sabrina was stunning in her Alena Leena gown, with delicate blossom accents and soft tulle straps that tied into bows on her shoulders. Her bridesmaids wore mismatched dusty blue dresses from Show Me Your Mumu, and the whole bridal party looked effortlessly put together. Brett and his groomsmen wore classic black tuxes from State and Liberty, giving everything a timeless, elegant feel.

Family was woven into the day in the sweetest ways. For her parent dance, Sabrina danced not just with her mom but also with her brother and sister—a moment that perfectly captured how close-knit they are. You could feel it all day long: this is a family that loves deeply and celebrates hard.
Even their pup, Reggie, had his own subtle spotlight. He joined in for photos at the resort, and little touches of him popped up throughout the reception. He’s such an important part of their lives, and it felt right that he was part of their wedding story, too.
Their wedding date was chosen with Sabrina’s grandparents in mind. The couple wanted to be as close as possible to her grandparents’ anniversary on June 7, making their own day feel even more connected to family history.
One of the moments that will stick with me most was their vows. They were beautifully written—funny, tender, and so authentically them. You could feel the whole room light up as they spoke. It was one of those times when you realize, this is exactly why we’re all here.

When I asked Sabrina and Brett why they wanted me to film their day, Sabrina said: “Your amazing films! We LOVE Cristina and Ryan’s film—it’s something our whole family cherishes and is genuinely amazing, so we wanted our own to capture our day!” Hearing that meant so much to me. It’s always an honor to be trusted with someone’s memories, but being asked back by the same family twice feels extra special.
Sabrina and Brett, your wedding was a dream to capture. The joy, the elegance, the heartfelt family moments—it all came together in such a beautiful way. I know this day is one your family will cherish for generations, and I’m so grateful I got to be the one to preserve it on film.
