Amanda & Joey’s August Wedding at The Log Cabin

Okay, so here’s how Amanda and Joey met: a softball game.

I know, I know—not exactly the most romantic setting. But honestly? Some of the best love stories start in the most unexpected places.

It was August 2022, and Amanda wasn’t even supposed to be there. She’d tagged along to support her friend Rebecca, take care of Rebecca’s dog, and honestly just get out of the house after a couple years of… well, you know. Pandemic isolation. Just a regular Tuesday night at the sports league.

Joey was playing third base. His team won. And later that night, Amanda’s phone lights up with a message from him, playfully asking if she’d be his team’s “good luck charm” at the next game.

Their First Date

Two weeks later, they went to Camp Nowhere. Over Voodoo Ranger beer and adult Bug Juice (which, if you went to summer camp, you get it), they just… talked. About everything. Camp stories, life, all the little things that make you who you are.

At some point, Amanda teased Joey about his day camp experience, declaring that it didn’t count as “real” camp. Just this playful, ridiculous moment between two people who were already so comfortable with each other.

That’s what I mean when I talk about the little things. It’s not always the grand gestures—sometimes it’s the way someone makes you laugh about fake camp on a first date.

Their Wedding Day Was Perfection

When their wedding day came around at The Log Cabin, it was just… bright. Summery. Romantic. Everything you’d want for them.

But what really got me was how present they both were. They weren’t worried about looking perfect or hitting specific poses. They were just there, experiencing it all. Joey’s face when he saw Amanda. The way they’d catch each other’s eye during speeches and just smile. Their parents watching them during the dances—oh my gosh, those parent dances.

This is what I live for. These unguarded, honest moments that you can’t recreate.

What Amanda Told Me

“I can’t say enough wonderful things about Ashlee and her company! One of my best friends hired her a few years ago for wedding videography, and I was so impressed with her work that I immediately asked for her information after my husband and I got engaged.

From the very beginning, Ashlee was incredibly friendly, organized, and helpful. It was clear right away that she genuinely cared about capturing our day in the most meaningful way.

On our wedding day, Ashlee and team arrived right on time, was completely professional, and worked seamlessly with our photographer. When we received our wedding films, we were absolutely blown away by the quality and artistry.

I honestly couldn’t have asked for a more stunning highlight video to relive our wedding day (and yes, I’ve watched it many, many times already!)”

Look, I’ll be honest—I think about couples like Amanda and Joey a lot. Because this is exactly why I do what I do. Years from now, when time has moved faster than they can believe, they’ll have this. Their voices, their laughter, their people. All preserved in a way that lets them press play and be right back there.

If you’re planning a wedding and you get it—if you understand that this isn’t about pretty footage, it’s about preserving the people you love—let’s talk. I’d love to hear your story.
