Kaitlyn and Devan celebrated their marriage at the Barn at Bradstreet Farm in October 2023.
In describing Bradstreet Farm’s rich history, their website states:
“Bradstreet Farm in Rowley, Mass., is the second-oldest continually operating farm in the U.S. Originally deeded by King Charles I of England to Humphrey Bradstreet in 1635, the property remained in the Bradstreet Family until 2007. The farmhouse and barn are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. After 350 years, and a three-year restoration of the fields and buildings, the new owners are sharing this landmark property with others by offering the Bradstreet Farm venue for farm-to-table barn weddings, outdoor weddings, and other functions. Guests can get an inside look at an operating farm, enjoy our beautiful scenery and delight in locally sourced food and flowers.” (Source: Bradstreet Farm website)
To tell their story best, let’s hear from Kaitlyn herself:
“We met at a New Year’s Eve party at a mutual friend’s house. We were 15 and I was “dating” someone else. He asked for my number but once I realized I was unavailable asked for someone else’s. I didn’t even know who he was but for some reason I was irritated that he asked for someone else’s number and not mine (I didn’t know he asked for mine first). I still pick on him about it all these years later. After that he asked me out a couple times but I wasn’t interested. He even bought me flowers for Valentine’s Day while I was ignoring him.
Our first date was technically at Texas Road House, but our mutual friend was with us so we don’t count that. Our second first date was to go see Captain Marvel at the movies. It was kinda boring but I was just so excited to be with him.
The first summer we were together, my parents were having trouble with leaves continuously falling in the pool and then being unable to get them out. The water was freezing and gross, yet Devan took it upon himself to call my mother and jump around in the freezing cold water picking leaves up with his bare hands while I wasn’t even home. I realized that he was willing to do anything for anyone he cared about.”
Kaitlyn and Devan’s wedding day had all the makings of a perfect early October celebration. The air was warm but held just a hint of that classic fall crispness, and the leaves were starting to show off their autumn colors, adding to the rustic vibe they were dreaming of. It felt like one of those days where everything just fits together—the laughter, the love, and the stunning scenery.
They kept things simple and classic, with a color palette that made everything feel peaceful and elegant. Kaitlyn didn’t want anything overdone or crowded. The bridesmaids rocked gorgeous terracotta dresses, and the flowers were all muted, autumnal tones that tied it all together. The table scapes were minimalist but beautiful—every detail thoughtfully chosen to keep the focus where it mattered: on the love they were there to celebrate.
One of the most touching moments of the day was Kaitlyn’s dance with her dad. He had been battling cancer, and although he passed away not long after the wedding, that dance became a cherished memory for everyone there. It was one of those moments that makes you pause and just feel the love. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house, and it was a beautiful reminder of the bond Kaitlyn shared with her father.
What stood out to me were the intentional details. The decor was simple but stunning, and the whole day felt perfectly balanced. Nothing was over-the-top, yet everything felt so thoughtful. The vibe was pure autumn magic, and every detail worked together to make the day feel effortlessly beautiful.
Kaitlyn and Devan have the kind of relationship everyone dreams of—their friends and family would describe them as best friends doing life together. Kaitlyn says Devan is strong-willed, big-hearted, and protective. Meanwhile, Devan would tell you Kaitlyn is smart, beautiful, and caring. You can see it in how they look at each other and in the laughter they share.
Their favorite date nights say a lot about who they are. Kaitlyn loves chasing sunsets at the beach, soaking in the romance of it all, while Devan’s happy place is out fishing, taking in the quiet and calm. Together, they balance each other out, finding joy in the simple moments.
When they look back 50 years from now, Kaitlyn and Devan want to remember the love that made their day unforgettable. All the stress, the long nights planning, and the hurdles of the last year and a half? It was all worth it to feel this in love, surrounded by the people who matter most. This day is one for the books, a reminder of the incredible love story they’ve built together.
